Pictures from Vietnam
You don't come back unscathed from such a trip, and beyond the first striking impressions of Saïgon, a swarming city without end ...
Every thing fascinates you in Vietnam from the market of cho-lon ( its means big market) the bustling chinese district to the central Post-Office of Ho Chi Minh with its Gustave Eiffel's glassroof or the Thien Hau pagoda and its superb ceramic frescals underlining the roof of the courtyard, from its houses and their yellowish facades and the turquoise shutters of Hoi an, to the Têt festival which celebrates the arrival of spring (its Vietnam name means " Festival of the first dawn...")
I could list lots of other things but what remains the strongest and the most present impression, it's the beauty of the people and the easiness to meet, the language barrier doesn't count much, far less than sharing a tea or memories through family photos. In spite of the past, they welcome you without distrust and it's no doubt the most striking memory i have today when i think of south Vietnam, a country i'll go back to. It's why i suggest here small series of portraits in order to speak of this beautiful country, its women and men and the depth of their eyes.
